Universiteit van Amsterdam Digital Academic Repository (UvA-DARE)

Organisation:Library of the University of Amsterdam, Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA), Netherlands
Description:University repository providing access to the publication output of the institution. While this is one repository it comprises three interface sections: the principal UvA-DARE site for all materials, and the subsections UvA Dissertations Online and UvA Scripties Online for those interested in student publications (doctoral & masters respectively). The whole site is available in English or Dutch and includes a document of the day highlighted. While there is a range of full text material openly accessible, a lot of the data on this site are bibliographical listings of all publications by institutional authors; much of which is not freely readable. Whilst this provides a showcase for the institution it diminishes the functionality for anyone expecting to be able to read all the material online significantly. The student based materials are however accessible in full-text. The site is well supported by a wealth of supporting documentation and background information. As well as the normal browse and search options there is a well implemented author showcase function.
